Chalet-Hotel La Terrasse de Verchaix – We are a small dedicated team offering a professional, friendly and individual service to our guests. Family owned and operated by Philip and Louise Taylor who between them have 22 years experience in working in European ski and beach resorts. Phil as operations manager and tour guide, and Louise as a professionally trained chef, managing chalets and hotels.
We currently have 2 vacancies that would suit a couple – or friends, for the winter season. 1 chalet-hotel assistant to work in all areas including housekeeping, restaurant service, cleaning public areas and kitchen hand, and 1 CHEF /COOK.
The CHEF will show a passion for cooking using fresh local ingredients and show dedication towards excellent presentation, and kitchen hygiene standards. As well as catering for our half board guests we also have a popular restaurant which is open in the evenings to provide a mix of international, Savoyard cuisine, and house specialities. We welcome new ideas and creativity towards menu planning and design whilst maintaining well balanced and carefully presented meals.
Catering experience is essential with a passion for cooking! Please supply a six day menu plan that includes an afternoon tea cake, three course evening meal and vegetarian option, and children’s meal.
As chalet-hotel assistant you will provide an attentive, caring and personal service to our guests at all times, with a positive friendly attitude. Create a relaxing, homely atmosphere in a professional environment. Duties will include service of breakfast and dinner, hosting the bar and housekeeping to ensure our high cleaning standards are maintained throughout the chalet-hotel.
We are looking for someone with previous hospitality experience in a restaurant/chalet environment – it is essential that you are committed to providing an excellent level of customer service that exceeds our guest’s expectations, with a positive friendly attitude.
The chalet-hotel is in the popular resort of Samoëns, which is part of the Grand Massif ski area in France. There are over 265km of piste linking the resorts of Samoëns, Morillon, Sixt, Flaine, and Les Carroz to provide excellent high altitude skiing for all levels. Situated 55 minutes from Geneva airport, we also have easy access to other resorts such as Morzine and Chamonix.
Wherever you do work this winter you can expect the hours to be long but also have the benefits from learning to ski or board (or improving!) making some great friends and having a lot of fun.
