We have a position for senior team member in our chalet hotel in the Italian Dolomites, responsible for the housekeeping and overall cleanliness of a 20 bedroom chalet hotel. An ideal job for someone highly organised with good people-management skills and a very keen eye for detail. Previous housekeeping/chalet experience would be ideal. As housekeeper you will report to the Resort Manager/UK based manager and you will be in charge of overall cleanliness in a piste side chalet hotel, working as part of a small team. You will be a real perfectionist, who can keep morale high and motivate a team. While this is a supervisory role, you will be required to help the team carry out all the cleaning duties. Your main responsibilities will be:
- Overseeing and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the hotel and outside entrances/terraces.
- Cleaning guest rooms, public areas and bathrooms/toilets.
- Front of house duties such as helping to serve meals and manning the bar.
- Monitoring cleaning standards and ensuring that all rooms and public areas are prepared to the high standards our guests deserve.
- Checking breakfast/dinner tables are set correctly and ensuring cutlery and glasses are clean.
- Providing a high standard of customer service – helping guests with any requirements.
- Help Resort Manager with preparing staff rotas.
- Allocate housekeeping tasks to the chalet staff team.
- Work closely with chef/kitchen manager to manage the team of chalet staff.
- Express your ideas/thoughts on how things can be improved.
- Ski hosting with guests.
- Mixing and socialising with guests where appropriate.
Requirements:
- Experience working as general chalet staff or similar.
- It is essential you are comfortable working within a close team.
- A flexible “nothing too much trouble” attitude.
- Excellent organisation skills and an ability to work on own initiative.
- Some management or supervisory experience preferred (but not essential).
- If you are able to speak German or Italian this would be helpful (but not essential).
