Anti-government protesters in Thailand have forced the closure of the second airport in Bangkok, Don Mueang.
The airport was closed after protesters blocked the terminal. The escalating crisis could not be timed worse for the tourist,
gap year, backpacker season. Renowned for friendliness and safety, tourism is one of Thailand's biggest sources of income.
Protesters have been occupying the international airport amid an escalating political crisis. They have been ordered to leave but the group - who belong to the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) - say they will stay until the government resigns. PAD is an alliance of businessmen and the middle class. They claim that the government is corrupt.
On Wednesday Mr Somchai (Thai PM) denied requests by the army for new elections.
