The winter ski instructor courses have been designed for potential ski instructors to train and qualify for the BASI or PSIA qualifications.

The Winter Ski Instructor Courses will be split into three parts:
1.Winter 2009 train and qualify for the BASI or PSIA qualifications.
2.Ski Instructor work during the winter season 2009 (optional)
3.Winter 2009/10 Ski Instructor work for ski schools in Europe or USA (optional).

Over the 11 week course the SAS coaches provide a constant personal development ski and teaching programme which covers all modules and every aspect of the PSIA Level 1/2 or BASI Level 1 and 2 syllabus.This will include teaching sessions, shadowing, steeps, bumps, piste and off piste performance and freestyle.

BASI:

After students have qualified for the BASI Level 1 we will provide six weeks of further training to prepare students for the BASI Level 2 ski instructor qualification. This will include ski school shadowing, teacher training, developing performance and mountain safety. There is also an opportunity for students to take up another language (French or German) which will prove essential when applying to any foreign ski schools.

The Winter BASI course will be based in Gstaad.

PSIA:

After students have qualified for the PSIA level 1 there will be an additional 6 weeks of ski school training to prepare students for the PSIA Level 2. There is also an opportunity for students to take up the USSA L100 race coaching course which will be a valuable accreditation when applying to any ski schools.

The Winter PSIA Course  will be based in Gstaad.

• 11 weeks personal skiing performance
• 6 hours of coaching per day for 5 days per week
• PSIA level 1 or BASI Level 1 
• PSIA level 2 training or BASI Level 2

• BASP first aid course
