      Tim Lilley Fundraising

      This vacancy is no longer live on Season Workers.

      Advert Ref: SWB698

      We are looking for patient, mature (in outlook), and self-motivated fundraisers to visit members of the public at home to raise support through regular direct debits, using our gentle, differentiated approach:

      • our fundraisers work independently (we don't use teams, scripts, or techniques)
        for spontaneous, human, contact;
      • we treat everyone as individuals, with their own needs and preferences;
      • we give people all the space they need to take a careful decision free from pressure;
      • and we leave them positive about the process — and, vitally, the NGO
        — whether or not they choose to support.

      Our fundraisers are not desperate to raise wedges of cash. We seek, and make contact with, thoughtful and loyal supporters upon whom each charity can rely and budget for years to come. By persevering at a human level, we keep costs to a minimum and deliver, over time, the best returns on outlay — measurably higher than those from publicity campaigns, mail-outs "charity events," or any other fundraising.

      So Tim Lilley fundraisers are very much in demand. We take pride in the sensitivity of our work — and we are paid accordingly.

      The Work:

      We will ask you to choose from five of our key clients.

      Action on Disability and Development
      Amnesty International (UK)
      Greenpeace
      Plan (UK)
      Shelter

      We will encourage you to build up a close relationship with that one NGO. You will attend regular training with them at their head office and work door to door by yourself, in your own area, solely on their behalf.

      Part of the job is also to attend weekly group sessions with other TLFC fundraisers, which take place in Bristol, Birmingham, and Oxford during the day.

      The weekly commitment, both training and fund raising, is 22½ hours.

      Requirements:

      You need to be articulate with fluent English and good interpersonal skills. Ideally, you will be educated to degree level or equivalent. A bicycle might be handy (though not essential).

      You will need to be available for at least thirteen weeks — and free for scheduled day-time training.

      You must be over 18 and have a full UK Work Permit, and a UK National Insurance number.

      Unfortunately, we cannot employ applicants with a Student Visa only.
